Activities

Challenge Bingo

If you join Challenge Bingo, you’ll have a great opportunity to get to know other geocachers.

On the bingo pad, there are 20 fields with challenges such as “Own more than 50 active caches” and “Have found fewer than 1000 caches”, and then it’s your job to find other participants at the Copen Adventure event who meet the challenge and can write their name on your bingo pad.

The goal of this activity is to create a community, expand your geocaching network and make new acquaintances across countries and regions.

The activity is not about finishing first or getting a full plate.

It’s about talking to the people who put their name on your record. Get their story, their experiences and go home feeling inspired by others who share your passion for geocaching.

Pin the coords

We’ve been lucky enough to have a REACH RS2+ Multi-band RTK GNSS receiver in our possession, which means you get a unique opportunity to find out how accurate your GPS is – whether it’s a GPS-R you’re using or a regular cell phone.

“Our” super GPS can make centimeter-precise measurements, and our skilled agent has already been out to measure 3 locations.

In true geocaching style, you’ll be given one of the 3 coordinates along with a flag to write your geo-name on and then it’s just a matter of locating and placing your flag as close to the given coordinate as you can get.

When the time is up (see program), we will take measurements together and award the 3 geocachers who have come closest!

On the trail of adventure

Logging trackable devices like TBs and geocoins is often something that happens around a table while you’re standing in line with many other interested parties.

Of course, you’ll have that option at this event, but we’ve decided to add a little extra challenge or game, if you will.

We’ve hidden a bunch of TB codes along with a special item from Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales around the fort. Your task is to get around the fort, experience and enjoy this special place, and of course explore the fairy tales that are referenced.

We have made a treasure map (will be on the event site) that clearly helps you in your hunt, so take the opportunity for this little extra game with your good geo friends.

Adventure stories

No event about H.C. Andersen and his amazing fairy tales without these stories being a prominent part of the day. That’s why reading aloud some of the most famous fairy tales is also part of the official program, where our storyteller invites children and other fairy tale enthusiasts on stage.

As an added bonus, we will give you the opportunity to participate in the reading even if you are not near the stage – or even at Kastrup Fort.

We want to create an atmosphere of a true mega-social event, so we’re creating a live stream from the stage, which you can follow by watching on a closed page.

All you need is your phone or other device with an internet connection and a decent speaker or headset, and we’ll provide a link to the relevant page.

Among other things, there will be a QR code at the stage and on the website, so you can always access the live stream page, even if you’re out and about in the city finding geocaches.

We look forward to having you join us on stream so we can share an adventure.

Tree climbing

Was she a real princess?

Late one night during a terrible storm, a poor girl was let into the castle. She said she was a real princess. But the queen of the castle knew only too well how to tell if she was a real princess.

Can you help the Queen put the 20 mattresses and 20 eiderdown duvets in the princess’s bed so we can all see if she’s a real princess and can feel the pea at the bottom?

Here, the Queen’s helpers have to stack boxes as high as possible, and the winner of course gets the princess and half the kingdom. The helper is secured from above in the nearest tree but must be able to stack the boxes without support from others.

In addition to the above, we will be visited by Signal the Frog, and a number of Adventure Labs will be released that can be solved on the day and logged online up to 14 days after the event.

Geocaching HQ in Seattle has also chosen to honor us with a visit from no less than 4 lackeys, Ben Field (Benno), Jeff Caulfield (gearguru), Bri Suffety (Sassy Bandit) and Annie Love (Love), who you might be lucky enough to meet at the Copen Adventure event.

In addition, there will be exchange stations for coins, TBs and woodcoins.
